Striezelmarkt Dresden
The Striezelmarkt in Dresden is the oldest of its kind in Germany and also the finest of course. It opens every year a few day's before the beginning of Advent and is the gateway to secrets, the peal of bells and scent. The main attractions are the huge Dresden Stollen, the giant pyramid, tree and nutcrackers and the huge advent calendar. Father Christmas comes every day and entertains the little ones on a huge stage, while the adults can warm themselves up with plenty of Gluehwein. As well as traditional cakes such as marble cake and Stollen there are many other treats to snack on like plum toffee for example.
